Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) Workshop
London, OH
Thursday, August 18, 2016
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Twelve FSA Offices in counties throughout central and southwest Ohio have partnered together to host the workshop to assist producers in the region in better understanding the Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program, in addition to other FSA programs available including loan programs. Both producers interested in learning more about NAP and FSA programs and current NAP participants who want to better understand the program will benefit from attending this workshop.
Workshop highlights include:
•Review of NAP coverage levels and application process
•Discussion of acreage, production, and loss reporting, and presentation by Loss Adjustor
•Information about free catastrophic level coverage and discounted buy-up options available to beginning, underserved, and limited resource producers
•Opportunity to get to know FSA, and hear about other programs of interest to specialty crop producers, including the Farm Storage Facility Loan program
FSA administers the NAP program, providing financial assistance to producers of non-insurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory, or prevented planting occur due to damaging weather such as drought, freeze, excessive moisture, hail, and flood. The list of eligible crops is extensive, and includes crops grown for food, like fruits and vegetables, hay and forage crops, honey and maple sap, aquaculture, mushrooms, Christmas trees, and ornamental nursery crops.
The NAP Workshop is free to attend. To register, contact your local FSA County Office, or email joseph.howard@oh.usda.gov.
Register by August 5th, though walk-ins are welcome.
Persons with disabilities who require accommodations to attend or participate in this meeting should contact Joe Howard at 740-852-4003 or Federal Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339 by August 5, 2016.
