Do the Climate Math with Bill McKibben

Columbus, OH

Capitol Theatre, 77 S High St, Columbus, OH

Tuesday, November 27, 2012 7pm

Our friends at 350.org are hitting the road with their founder and noted author Bill McKibben. The Do The Math tour will be making a stop at Capitol Theater in Columbus on November 27 and you’re invited!

At this historic event, Bill will be joined by a cast of inspirational musicians, actors, and activists; both in-person and by video. Be among the first to kick off a bold new campaign focused on moving investments away from the use of fossil fuels.

In recent years our weather patterns have seen some dramatic fluctuations, from severe drought to widespread floods. Recently we all watched as Hurricane Sandy pummeled the East Coast, but the effects of this superstorm reached as far as Ohio.  Sandy left many in the dark, interrupted the end of harvest season, and displaced families from their homes.

Of course, no one weather event can be directly attributed to climate change, but the scientific consensus is that severe weather events are expected to increase under a warming planet. However, if we take action now to reduce greenhouse gas emissions we can put a halt to the most dangerous effects of climate change.

OEFFA is proud to co-sponsor this event.
