Description
Shared Legacy Farms is a 20 acre vegetable farm in Elmore, OH across from the Sugar Creek Golf Course. It was founded in 2008 by Kurt Bench with just 12 shares, and has doubled in size every year since. We grow several dozen varieties of vegetables for our 200 member CSA, two farmer's markets, local restaurant accounts, and a produce stand off the neighboring bike path. Our CSA program runs for 19 weeks, starting in June, and includes vegetable, fruit and egg shares. For our CSA, we offer pick up locations at the Perrysburg Farmers Market, the Jewish Family Service Center in Sylvania, the Sutton Center in Port Clinton, the Toledo Farmer's Market, and Shared Legacy Farm in Elmore. Members also receive a weekly newsletter that is highly acclaimed for its humor, insights into farm life, and recipe suggestions for how to use up your box each week. CSA members are also invited to a myriad of free farm events throughout the season like our Flashlight Pumpkin Hunt, Pesto Fest, Farm Olympics, and Jam-Making workshops, to name a few. Many of our loyal customers believe in the "local food movement," and long to build lasting friendships with their farmer. We believe that "every vegetable tells a story," and our aim is to not only provide you with great vegetables, but to tell the stories behind them. Join our farm, and you'll see what we mean.
